The Hexed by Heather Graham + a Giveaway

Good morning, everyone! Today I'm a stop on the TLC book tour for Heather Graham's latest Krewe of Hunters title, The Hexed. As part of the tour I'm able to offer up winner's choice of one of three Heather Graham titles so be sure to read through to the end to enter.

Craig "Rocky" Rockwell always wanted to go into law enforcement and discovering a murdered classmate convinced him even further. Now he's made a career for himself in the FBI and has sought out the Krewe of Hunters, a special team with unique abilities. A recent murder very similar to the one that haunts Rocky's past pulls him back to his hometown and joining the Krewe would give him access to the investigation. It helps, too, that Rocky seems to be able to see ghosts.

Rocky arrives back in Salem the same evening that the killer strikes again. This time, a local writer stumbles on the body in almost the same situation as Rocky all those years ago - she heard the dead girl. Now they must all work together to unmask the killer before he strikes again.

Heather Graham's long running Krewe of Hunters series now clocks in at 13 titles and continues to grow. The Krewe have traveled from New Orleans to Hollywood, Key West, Philadelphia, and elsewhere before making their way now to Salem (and next to Sleepy Hollow) and while I haven't yet read the other installments I can safely say that The Hexed is an easy starting point.

The Hexed is paranormal mystery with a hefty dose of romance but the best part is all of the history! Graham deftly incorporates Salem's notorious past as part of the plot of this latest Krewe title, taking the characters on a tour of the historic town center and even weaving in a ghost from Puritan times, all the while doing a fabulous job of keeping the reader guessing and still moving the story along at a quick pace.

With fall pretty fairly in the air here (we've still got some balmy afternoons but the evenings have a definite chill), The Hexed hit the spot for me. It was the perfect blend of witchy thrills and action - and amazingly good in the character department as well. There's a pretty large group of characters here, understandable for the thirteenth installment in a series, but the leads get the right amount of face time and development and the supporting cast are pretty well fleshed out even for readers just jumping into the series.

As promised, I've got a book up for grabs for one of you lucky readers and this time you get to pick between three of Graham's latest: The Cursed, The Hexed, or the forthcoming The Betrayed (I've linked to Goodreads for book info). To enter simply fill out the Rafflecopter below before Monday, September 22. US and Canada only please.

Wow, what a great opportunity -- thanks so much for giving it to us and for your insight into this series. I agree -- "the best part (would be) all the history!" I've always been fascinated by the history of "witchcraft" in Europe and later in Salem, etc. However, after a difficult decision, I decided to seek The Betrayed instead of The Hexed in this context; I'm extremely curious to see what this author will do with the famous story and how she'll do it! Cheers, Kara
