It's back on. I've made some adjustments to suit my current reading mood and will be injecting TBR reads throughout the review schedule (yes, I keep a review calendar with release dates and read by dates). I've also promised (after three Borders closeout trips) that I will not buy any more books until the new Stephen King comes out in November (and have succeeded even though I did preorder said Stephen King along with the fourth Iron Fey book).
To recap, here's what I have gotten out of the TBR stack of late (and reviewed here):
Non-Official Personal Alphabetical Challenge:
The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham
Case Histories by Kate Atkinson
Books That Have Languished 6 Mos or More:
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
The Haunting of James Hastings by Christopher Ransom
Think of a Number by John Verdon
The Left Hand of God by Paul Hoffman
Fragile by Lisa Unger
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
And I haven't been posting as regularly as I should, so there are actually a few more that got knocked out and haven't been featured on the blog.
To date, in 2011, I've read a total of 112 books. 42 of those were from June forward (most were new).
So, here are the books I've picked right now (A is almost done):
The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen
World War Z by Max Brooks
Sidney Sheldon's After the Darkness by Tilly Bagshawe
The Magicians and Mrs. Quent by Galen Beckett
Chime by Franny Billingsly
The Ambassador's Mission by Trudi Canavan
Blameless by Gail Carriger
The Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susanna Clarke
The Meaning of Night by Michael Cox
Tombs of Endearment by Casey Daniels
Sweet Revenge by Diane Mott Davidson
Mary Modern by Camille DeAngelis
Cold Magic by Kate Elliott
Web of Lies by Jennifer Estep
Bloody Right by Georgia Evans
Therapy by Sebastian Fitzek
The Other Side of the Door by Nicci French
China Lake by Meg Gardiner
Even by Andrew Grant
There's no doubt they'll all get read at some point. There's also no doubt that I'll be reading other things from the TBR stack as well as the new review books along with these. I'll probably be on a big horror kick in the next month as well. These just happen to be the ones I've put on my official Shelfari Planning to Read shelf and I've noticed that that classification sometimes becomes the kiss of death for my older books. Not this time!

Nice reading! I like the idea of a TBR Tackle, maybe I'll try that next year....I have made a deal with myself that I can only buy books after I read a certain amount...it works...in theory.
I tried that, Vickie. I totally blew it with the Borders going out of business sales!
Becky: *grin*
Best of luck Becky! I loved the reference to the "kiss of death", it seems the same fate falls on my tbr pile also. I've been trying to make the effort and got a couple down and working on the third-then today the library calls that one of my 'holds' has come in. :(
Good luck Becky. My TBR list is way out of control. I also need to tackle it hard.
Oh,to win the lottery, so I don't have to work anymore and have all the time in the world to read and buy more books. LOL!
I wish I could win the lotto! Reading time galore and shelves to keep all the books on!
