R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril X + a Giveaway

Agh! It's already September! Much as I hate to see summer go, I do love fall. Fall means Halloween! Fall also means horror challenges like RIP, hosted this year by The Estella Society, and Jenn's Bookshelves's Murder, Monsters and Mayhem both of which give me yet another excuse to pack in more horror reads. Jenn's challenge isn't until October, but RIP starts today and this is my official "I'm taking part" post :)

Here's the basics, there are a number of ways you can take part but the gist of it is that you're to read and/or watch anything sufficiently creepy at any time during the month of September and share it with the other folks taking part in the challenge.

This year I'll be doing the same challenges as last year plus one more:

Peril the First: Four books fitting the challenge

Peril of the Short Story: Short stories of course

And Peril on the Screen: Horror movies!

I'm also hopping on board with the Peril of the Group Read this year: Laura Owen's The Quick

Whew! That's a lot!

To get things started this year and to hopefully get a few of you guys in the mood for the season or even the challenge, I'm giving away THREE copies of a book that I think fits the mood perfectly. What's more, even if you're not big on horror I think you'll love this one!

So what's the book, you ask? It's Cat Winters's The Uninvited! This is a fantastic, atmospheric read set during WWI and the Spanish flu epidemic; if you haven't seen the internet squeeing about it yet, you can check out my review here

To get your name in the hat, simply fill out the Rafflecopter below before Monday, September 14. Open US only.

My entire Fall surrounds spooky reading. I'll be reading Anne Rice and Stephen King among others. My R.I.P. post is here: http://www.truebookaddict.com/2015/09/readers-imbibing-peril-x-ripx.html

I'm way behind in my horror reading, and I plan on concentrating on a lot of backlist books in October that I've been meaning to read. Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

I love this time of year too! I am not quite ready for it yet, but I am still looking forward to it. At least the cooler weather, it's been very sticky around here lately.

I don't read seasonally (except annual themes on occasion), but historical fiction is always timely reading for me. I love the particular setting of this story! Great choice, Becky! Cheers, Kara S
