An ordinary man can... surround himself with two thousand books... and thenceforward have at least one place in the world in which it is possible to be happy. ~Augustine Birrell

Top Ten Tuesday: All Time Favorite Authors
I've decided to jump on board with Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week the topic is: top ten all time favorite authors.
This was a tough one! I feel like I have about six solids and the rest were whatever the heck I felt like were my favorites in the moment. Oh, well.
The Stand is my very favorite King book. One of my favorites ever. I remember when I first read Jurassic Park. I looked at my husband and said this is going to be so big. I was fascinated with chaos theory - had never heard of it. I've just read a couple Mo Hayder's books, but will read more. Lisa Lutz is really funny in real life. Saw her at an author thing at the Poisoned Pen a few years ago.
I'm enjoying reading other people's lists, but I just bailed this week. Too hard. I have about 85 favorites. LOL
I loved The Stand...the complex story of so many people all woven together and all those great characters...And the Jurassic Park book is also a favourite read of mine with my dinosaur obsession! Nice list...and thanks for visiting my list!
I am so glad to see another Stephen King fan. He was a no-brainer for my list. Also, it is so nice to see someone else has read The Birthing House - I thought perhaps I was the only one! Great list.
Embarrassing confession: I've only read books by two authors on your list! GRRM & Stephen King. I've been eying up The Stand for a while but not got around to it yet, and I have a Michael Crichton on my shelves but it's not Jurassic Park. Prey I think. (But I haven't read that either). Oops!
I love the way you've set this up by the way - the slides work really well!

ReplyDeleteGreat choices! I included Stephen King and Sue Grafton on my list as well. It is difficult to get it down to 10 authors!
